Day 13
August 4: Creative Self Care
Real talk: today's session came from a slightly frustrated place. I'm still stuck away from my studio waiting on an HVAC part before the AC gets fixed — not exactly ideal conditions for creating. But that's kind of what today's page ended up being about.

I gave myself the small, satisfying win of peeling back the watercolor mask on part of my page — that reveal moment never gets old. And then I did something a little braver: I gave myself full permission to paint over another spread that just felt stuck. No precious handling, no trying to save it. Just paint over it and see what happens, mistakes and all.

That's self-care via art journal today — not making something pretty, just making something move. Sometimes the most useful thing you can do with a stuck page (or a stuck day) is stop protecting it and just act.

These are pages kind of go with what I posted yesterday. I am posting for Anne to have to play with on her new Ecotank printer (woohoo).

How to save & print your files:
  1. Right-click  (or control click for mac, press and hold on mobile) on the image and choose "Save Image As" (or "Download Image").
  2. Save it to a folder you'll remember — like "Day 1 Journal Files."
  3. Open the saved JPEG and print at 100% / actual size (not "fit to page") so nothing gets cropped or stretched.
  4. Print on whatever paper you're testing today — plain, cardstock, watercolor, whatever's on hand.

Tip: if the image opens directly instead of downloading, just right-click anywhere on it for the save option.

Things I used Some of these are an affiliate link some are not.

The Posca white pen sampler set I worth every penny to be able to test all the sizes and tips.
The rubber cement pick up I should have used (it is at home)
The masking fluid I used
The masking fluid pen which was used for other things when I was a graphic designer in the 80s
The black needle point roller ball gel pen

My glue stick
The blank sketchbook I am using
