August 19: Showing up regardless
Today was me in the zone. Adding bits to a page, still on the fence about where it was going — and that's fine, because there are no mistakes here. Just me making marks in the moment, no real rhyme or reason. Intuitively playing with composition. Play. Just play. Pushing through the decisions that felt kind of "meh" instead of waiting for the right one.
Here's the thing about creative energy: it doesn't show up at 100% every day. Some days you're working with 80%. Some days it's 50%, and you make marks anyway, half-convinced they don't matter. They do. That's still the practice. Showing up at half-power and making the mark anyway is what actually builds the muscle — not just the days you feel brilliant.
