Today's replay is proof that not every page is going to feel good in the moment — this one went from a hot mess to a wet hot mess, and I'm not mad about it. It reminded me of something my dad's cousin used to tell her studio partner: when the painting looks awful and doubt starts creeping in, keep going. So that's exactly what I'm doing. I may cover this page entirely, but for now I'm letting it dry, giving myself fresh eyes in the morning, and trusting the process to keep going — whatever that ends up looking like.
