August 11: In and out of the zone
Yesterday's live cast got squeezed in between packing bags — I'm prepping the vacation house to close up before my trip back home across state. Same pens, same sunny living room setup, because this time my art supplies were half packed away already.
I wasn't really in the zone. Honestly, I almost didn't sit down at all. But I gave myself permission to just focus for 20-30 minutes, no more. I dove into a page I wasn't even excited about and just did my thing anyway.
Here's what I'm learning: being "in flow" doesn't always mean waiting for inspiration to strike. Sometimes it just means being able to drop into that creative headspace on command — as its own kind of self-care, even (especially) when life is chaotic around you.
