I've been digitizing my gelli print papers to recolorize and reprint at home. Ann asked if inkjet ink is colorfast. Short answer: depends on the paper — my Epson EcoTank runs dye ink, and on one of my three test papers it moved the moment water or watercolor hit it. The other two didn't budge at all.

My first instinct was to call the moving one a failure. Twenty years in, and imposter syndrome still tries that line on me. But it's not true — that "failure" made the best page of the three.

Day 1 permission slip: let the ink run on purpose — on the paper that lets it.

How to save & print your files:

1. Right-click  (or control click for mac, press and hold on mobile) on the image and choose "Save Image As" (or "Download Image").
2. Save it to a folder you'll remember — like "Day 1 Journal Files."
3. Open the saved JPEG and print at 100% / actual size (not "fit to page") so nothing gets cropped or stretched.
4. Print on whatever paper you're testing today — plain, cardstock, watercolor, whatever's on hand.

Tip: if the image opens directly instead of downloading, just right-click anywhere on it for the save option.
